NWSHC is now the Northwest Center

In 2021, the Northwest Side Housing Center was awarded the Good Egg Grant from Design B&B, a brand consulting and design agency. This partnership is designed to make high quality branding, strategy, and storytelling more accessible to Chicago nonprofits, and has provided us with full access to their services throughout the year.

Their incredibly talented and empathetic team worked over the course of a year to ask us tough questions that honestly helped us get to know ourselves better than ever before, and then amplify that story to the world through smart design.

This work has included a change in our name—an effort that has been discussed for several years. The new name — Northwest Center — maintains familiarity of our former name, eliminates the misperception that our work is limited to housing, and will lead us into the future as we continue to respond to the ever-changing needs of our community.

Our re-imagined brand uses vibrant colors and dynamic line illustrations to depict how the Northwest Center acts as a connecting thread, uniting our community to the people and resources they need to thrive. We are honored and humbled to have had the opportunity to work with Design B&B to amplify our story.
